SEALED Sun 1001 Elvis Presley - Interviews and Memories of the Sun Years. This is not a music album, but an audio documentary consisting of reminiscences by Elvis and his former Sun producer Sam Phillips, excerpts from old Elvis recordings, and interviews and intros of Elvis from various points in his career. Elvis Aaron Presley was born in East Tupelo, Mississippi, in the early morning hours of January 8, 1935. Elvis' family life was turbulent during his early years, largely due to the poverty and financial circumstances of his parents, Vernon and Gladys, however, Elvis grows up within a close-knit, working class family, consisting of his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, who all live near one another in Tupelo. As for the music, well, this is arguably the most important music of Elvis' career and the growth of rock & roll into a mass art form; Presley's wildly idiosyncratic fusion of blues, country, pop, and anything else that crossed his path was still evolving as he recorded these songs, and there's a thrill of discovery here that's a wonder to.
