From 1928 to 1932, Frank Luther recorded country music with Carson Robison. Their recordings, made for several record companies and issued on a variety of labels, were extremely popular. While his recordings for children remained his chief claim to fame, Luther made a number of successful 78rpm album sets for Decca in the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Frank Luther (August 4, 1899 - November 16, 1980) was an American country music singer, dance band vocalist, playwright, songwriter and pianist. Born Francis Luther Crow on a farm near Lakin, Kansas, forty miles from the Colorado line, he was raised on a farm near Hutchinson, Kansas, where his father, William R. Crow, and mother, Gertrude Phillips Crow, dealt in livestock and trotting horses.

Lonely and Blue is the first music album by Roy Orbison for Monument Records, released in January 1961. The track entitled "Come Back to Me (My Love)" features an almost identical intro to "Only the Lonely" because this is where the vocal figure of "Only the Lonely" came from. After a two-year stint at Sun Records, Roy Orbison signed up with RCA Records in 1958, but left after two singles.
