In terms of sheer performance talent, the Jackson 5 are unquestionably among the best. The sibling-tight harmonies as well as youthful soul and funk exuberance sent these albums not only to the top of the R&B, but also the pop album charts in 1969 and 1970, respectively.

Diana Ross Presents Jackson 5. Import. The J5's first two albums were among the best soul LPs of their era : melodic, funky, and fun; "ABC" is still the best J5 album for all-round quality of material. The real treat here, though, besides the terrific music (you know the hits, but try "Don't Know Why I Love You" (a breathtaking Stevie Wonder cover) or "2-4-6-8" (kiddie music, but fun), is the care lavished on these recordings.

The Jackson 5's second album of 1973 'Get It Together', as of yesterday 44 years old, still paints as important a picture of the Jackson brothers at a key transitional stage as it did at the time. The Jackson 5 arrived at an important crossroads in 1973. Jackson 5 Michael Jackson. ABC - The Jackson 5 (Album: ABC, 1970).
