The Pointer Sisters is the self-titled debut by the Pointer Sisters, released in 1973 on the Blue Thumb label. The album yielded the hits "Yes We Can Can" and "Wang Dang Doodle" and became a success based on word of mouth after heralded performances at The Troubadour in Los Angeles and the Helen Reddy Show. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200 and reached number three on the R&B albums chart and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 1974

Right Rhythm is the fourteenth studio album by the Pointer Sisters, released in 1990 on the Motown label. In 1978, the Pointer Sisters had begun an eleven-year association with Richard Perry - first through his Planet label and then still working with Perry with RCA Records - with the group amassing a total of eleven Top 40 hits

A switch to Motown didn't do wonders for the Pointer Sisters, as they hit the label during its nadir. They got substandard songs, only routine production and arrangements, and didn't sound very inspired on any number. They only stayed at the label a short time, and while the album hasn't been deleted, it's no wonder they returned to RCA. Track Listing.

This is not the worst recording of the Pointer Sisters, but a few cuts don't make it a great album. I have followed The Pointers from the beginning and it has been a sort of back and forth of highs and lows. They reached the height of their success with Break Out, and became pop divas on MTV. Their follow up to Break Out was Contact(1985)and it went platinum plus was good enough to keep them with some limelight.

The career climax afforded by the Pointer Sisters' 1984 multi-platinum album release, Break Out - parent to four Top Ten hits1 - was followed by a decline in popularity and in 1988 the Pointer Sisters ended their contract with RCA.
