Kiss is the debut studio album by American rock band Kiss, released on February 8, 1974. Much of the material on the album was written by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, as members of their pre-Kiss band Wicked Lester. Simmons estimated that the entire process of recording and mixing took three weeks, while co-producer Richie Wise has stated it took just 13 days.

Love Gun is my favourite by Kiss. The guitar riff, the drumming, the vocals and THAT GUITAR SOLO are simply excellent in my opinion. Great song, great album. I love everything about this song, the lyrics really got me hooked.

This album was released just two years after Alive!, by which time Kiss, despite heavy touring, had managed to squeeze out another trio of studio efforts. As a result, Alive II, again a double-disc set, basically reproduces the blockbuster formula of its predecessor, but with an entirely new batch of songs (making it perhaps the last time, if we pretend that the album represents one discrete show, that the band didn’t play Rock and Roll All Nite ). If not as strong songwriting-wise as Hotter Than Hell, Dressed to Kill is certainly a more focused and sonically stronger album. Not to mention more upbeat - tracks like "Love Her All I Can," "Room Service" "Anything for My Baby" and the definitive closer, "Rock and Roll All Nite," are pure power-pop euphoria.

One of the best things about getting your portrait painted has got to be the fact that you can portrayed as "ripped" as you want for all of time. Let's face it, other than Paul Stanley, none of the members of Kiss were ever quite as buff as they were immortalized here by designer Dennis Woloch and painter Ken Kelly. The cover finds the band holding court amidst a sea of what looks like half just-satisfied and half d women. 6. 'Dressed to Kill' (1975). Our vote for best Kiss studio album cover goes to this Michael Doret-designed ound. The band is pictured as a four-headed monster, each with a background quadrant (space, fire, heaven, the jungle) designed to match their personas. The unique layout probably helped ensure there would be no squabbles among the band members as to who got to be on top, since there was no top!
