Stoneground Words Lyrics. Sand me down to the nerve Made to live on stouneground words Imagine that, you've done all that And I come back for more Imagine that, I lived on that And I will live for more. I entered dancing and looked for my partner I thought the path could be a double road You played my heart like a drum beating warning Oh, I guess I'm gonna dance this one alone. Cleanse in the ocean, bathe in the power Live with the sea and I rise for the tide Go to the place where the water will bring me I'm the rivers lover, but I'll be the oceans bride. And they sand me down to the nerve Make me live on stouneground words Imagine that, you've done all that And I come back for more Imagine that, I lived on that And I will live for more. Stoneground Words" Track Info.

Stoneground Words was in another class altogether - a mature, intelligent and ambitious work, easily as good as most singer/songwriter fare of its time. Building on Gather Me's better moments, Melanie effectively shed her cuteness but didn't get cynical, either. The lyrics of "Summer Weaving," "Do You Believe," and "I Am Not a Poet" have a pretty, almost painterly quality, and Melanie's ear for an interesting melody was at its strongest

Melanie - Stoneground Words Lyrics.

Stoneground Words was the first album in the UK to be released on her own label (Neighborhood Records) in 1972. Regarded by many Melanie fans as her finest album. The booklet includes all the photos that were part of the original album release. Features two bonus tracks 'Bitter Bad' a 1973 single that was not featured on any album and 'Seeds' (Long Version) that includes her recitation of the 'Gather Me' Poem. I haven't followed her career at all over the years, but still come back to "Stoneground Words" fairly often. I'd say it's a somewhat uneven effort, at least for my musical tastes, but there are several songs on this CD that are truly remarkable, and worth the purchase for either any Melanie fan, or newcomers to her past career recordings, if you are someone who appreciates both an amazing voice, and a very intensely emotional sort of music.
