For London Mozart Players' leader Harry Blech to recognize that there was a purely musical benefit in returning to Mozartian dimensions took no small amount of prognostication; six decades on, it is customary for even the largest symphony orchestras to somewhat slim down before launching into one of Mozart's symphonies, and there's a great reason why; his musical textures become clearer

On 3 May 1951, the Royal Festival Hall was opened and the LMP was invited to perform as part of the RFH's opening week of concerts

The Amadeus Quartet performs Haydn and Mozart Recorded in 1980-1983. For four decades, 1947-87, the Amadeus Quartet dominated the chamber music scene in Britain, gradually spreading its fame to all corners of the earth. The variation of Haydn pieces show off individual players' tone and the Minuet is one of Mozart's finest. All three performances bear witness to the warmth and vigour of the Amadeus Quartet's approach to the Viennese Classics.

Hoping to serve this taste, Blech in 1949 founded the Haydn-Mozart Society and then, under its auspices, the London Mozart Players. From the beginning, Blech took his orchestra from the great metropolis and its major concert halls to rural venues and smaller cities around Britain. He did not confine his attentions to Wolfgang Mozart and Joseph Haydn, but also explored other composers active in Vienna at the time. His engaging style of music making and his interest in taking the music to the countryside won the LMP a large and steady following.
