The tracks themselves feel like those "in between" tracks that occur in Loveless so often but stretched out into full tracks so start nowhere, go nowhere and, thankfully end eventually.

Loveless (My Bloody Valentine album). Loveless is the second studio album by English-Irish rock band My Bloody Valentine. It was released on 4 November 1991 in the United Kingdom by Creation Records and in the United States by Sire Records.

In 1991, the band released their second full length album Loveless, later declared one of the finest albums of the 1990s. Almost 22 years after My Bloody Valentine's last album, Kevin Shields has completed this stunning followup. What My Bloody Valentine have done is take the precise toolkit of Loveless and made another album with it, one that is stranger and darker and even harder to pin down. When can we hear some new material?," someone asked Kevin Shields in an AOL chat interview published by the San Francisco zine Cool Beans!.

My Bloody Valentine Releases 'mbv': Full Details. Perhaps the most surprising thing about this album is how unsurprising it is: "mbv" basically sounds exactly like you'd expect the "Loveless" follow-up to sound. For all of bandleader Kevin Shields' much-vaunted perfectionism (the studio bills for "Loveless" reportedly nearly put the band's old label, Creation, out of business), it's an album that seemingly could have come out in 1996 just as easily as today. Even the song titles feel familiar: "Only Tomorrow," "Is This.

This album has grown on me, now at this point I find myself listening to "she found now" more than any track on loveless. While I don't love the entire album there are so many good songs on it. I still think the mastering could be better on some tracks but over all its still a good album, it has a nice warm summery vibe to it. Really different from loveless, and i think thats kind of what I like about it, at least they are trying to experiment with some new ideas even though on some tracks they dont work.
simply a wonderfull album
Disappointing after a 22 year wait. Horrible production it sounds like a warped master tape they transfered to a comp didn't bother to edit or master and said 'eh lets call it mbv and slap on a quick cover and try to sell it for 16 dollars'. Not the worst thing I have heard but for all the hype and long wait it's really disappointing and mostly due to the production alone.
its one thing to use a tremolo to bend the guitar to a warped soundits another to have an album that sounds unmastered.
Complaining about the master sounding warped... now that's the real joke here. This group's name is My Bloody Valentine.
I like the fuzzed out guitars etc. But this really just sounds like a tape thats ready to break inside the player. The first track is really nice. I just don't think its the best production and i think the 'warped tape' sound really just doesn't work/sound nice.
MBV is synonymous with a warped melted tape sound. It is a part of their esthetic.
The MP3 320 kbps is a transcode, that's why it sounds pretty bad. (Check the spectrals with Audacity/Audition/SoX/whatever, there's a cutoff at 16 kHz which is definitely not what you'd expect from a 320 kbps file.)Maybe they'll fix it if enough people complain.

This is a masterpiece within their sound, the genre and music. 24 years since their last album, and worth every moment.MBV is a really beautiful sound. The songs "In Another Way" and "If I Am" are so positive, they inspires palpable joy in me.
