This album is for you, and I'm pretty positive you're going to like it. Red Nichols was an artist, and a darn good trumpet player. A contemporary of Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, the Dorsey brothers, et a. he was a recognized forerunner of this form of music, and it shows in these recordings. Yes, they sound old for a very good reason: they ARE old, and they are beautifully done and a treat to hear. One person found this helpful.
