Another amazing underground electronic release via cassette format. It's amazing how many cool albums I've picked up on cassette format with most of them coming out after 2010. Who'd ever thought that tapes would be back in and providing new sounds for my thirsty ears. As an avid collector of vinyl since 1983 and before getting my first turntable I had two tape players so I've always been a fan of this format (except for when my various decks get hungry and decide to chew up some of my tapes). Regardless, it's nice to have these physical releases in my collection and I see a lot of them come with a digital download card so you don't have to risk playing these tapes if you don't want to. I would describe the music by Sub Liquid as very nice heavenly downtempo material to chill out to. Some part remind me of a wonderful CD by a Swedish group called Studio that was released in 2007. That CD was titled "West Coast" and was one of my favorite releases for the year 2007. I loved it so much that I ended up buying the very expensive import version that included two extra tracks. Some tracks also remind me of Trentemøller classic The Last Resort. There are some dub elements throughout this release as well. A lot of diversity for most listeners to keep them coming back for more. I'd also like to point out the nice sleeve design and transparent purple cassette as being pleasant on the eyes and that's what drew me into taking a gamble and purchasing this tape from my local record store. I had no idea of the label or artist and thought that it would be a nice experimental electronic release and that's exactly what it turned out to be!
