Happy Trails is the second album of the American band Quicksilver Messenger Service. Most of the album was recorded from two performances at the Fillmore East and Fillmore West, although it is not clear which parts were recorded at which Fillmore. The first side of the album consists entirely of a live performance of Bo Diddley's song, "Who Do You Love?"

Quicksilver Messenger Service. Without question, this follow-up to Quicksilver Messenger Service's self-titled debut release is the most accurate in portraying the band on vinyl in the same light as the group's critically and enthusiastically acclaimed live performances. The album is essentially centered around the extended reworkings of Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love?" and "Mona," as well as the lesser lauded - yet no less intense - contribution of Gary Duncan's (guitar/vocals) "Calvary.

Quicksilver Messenger Service (album). Quicksilver Messenger Service is the debut studio album of Quicksilver Messenger Service, released in 1968. This was Quicksilver Messenger Service's first album, although they had already produced two songs for the soundtrack of the 1968 movie Revolution. The album displays the group's jam sound amidst lighter pop-oriented songs.

Listen to Happy Trails right now. Quite unusually for a sophomore record, Happy Trails was a live album, taken from performances by the band at the famed Fillmore East and Fillmore West venues. Even more ambitiously, the first side of the disc was a suite of songs, running more than 25 minutes in total, based around the theme of Bo Diddley’s ‘Who Do You Love?’, in no fewer than six episodic interpretations. Twenty-three years after its release, in 1992, Happy Trails went gold, testament to the lasting contribution of Quicksilver Messenger Service - as was the fact that it landed at No. 189 on Rolling Stone’s all-time top 500 album list of 2003. Happy Trails is the second album of the American band Quicksilver Messenger Service. Trying to sit through these jams and pay attention to them is, however, a totally useless idea-and it only makes matters worse. If you have, for some unexplainable reason, purchased this album, never make the mistake of paying attention to it. his album manages to, indeed, epitomize all the worst excesses of American hippie music, and never concentrate on the best. he ever-modest Cipollina" said "'it was just a two-chord ja.
