Calypso is the third studio album by recording artist Harry Belafonte, released by RCA Victor (LPM-1248) in 1956. The album became his second consecutive number-one album on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, where it peaked for 31 weeks. Calypso is well-known as the first LP record album to sell over one million copies and is considered by many critics to be one of the greatest albums of all time.

Clive Bradley & The Bradley Band - Party on the Block. Bradley grew up in Diego Martin, Trinidad, where he attended elementary school. He then went to Fatima College. He did not play steelpan himself, but in 1968 he was asked by Mr. Rudolph "Charlo" Charles, manager of the Desperadoes Steel Orchestra from Laventille to try his arranging talents for the band. 1986 "Sugar for Pan" Mighty Terror Pandemonium Steel Orchestra.

Bradley started his career as a duet with his brother Peter Bradley Junior who later formed alternative band, Subcircus. They were mentored by the Everly Brothers in their early teens. Bradley later joined the Bristol-based art rock collective the Blue Aeroplanes. After departing from the Blue Aeroplanes, he joined indie darlings The House of Love and recorded an EP with Guy Chadwick under the name the Madonnas. The album spawned a succession of live concerts starting at London's Porchester Hall and Los Angeles' Greek Theatre, where they were joined on stage by EDM pioneer Skrillex Personal life. Bob Bradley was born on 5 February 1974 in Teesside, England.

Big Band Holiday is the perfect holiday chart for the young jazz band. Arranger Carl Strommen has blended "I’ll Be Home For Christmas," "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Have Yourself a Merry Christmas," and "Frosty the Snowman" into an easy-to-rehearse and very playable chart. The chart features brief written-out solos for trombone 2 and alto sax 1 and plenty of ensemble playing throughout. The brass range is modest with lead trumpet going up to written F on the top line.

The first Trinidad Panorama was first held during Carnival celebrations in 1963. A popular Calypso is arranged into a piece for steelpan orchestra with introductions and variations over the theme. Panorama" steelband competitions are also staged at Carnival time in other Caribbean communities. The first Antiguan Panorama was held in 1949 and was won by Hell's Gate Orchestra. In 1979, Panorama was not held due to Rudolph Charles' fight for higher recognition of pannists.

Kings of Calypso collects several big band calypso tracks recorded in the 1950s in Britain for the large resident West Indies population there. Among the highlights are Mighty Terror's amusing but deadly serious treatise on racial relations, "Heading North," the folk mento of Noel Anthony's "Down the Line," and Ben Bowers' languid vocal on "Lazy Moon

CALYPSO: a Brief History by Philip W. Scher. Traditionally accompanied by acoustic music, Calypso increasingly came to incorporate electronic instrumentation and the influence of North-American musical styles such as rhythm and blues and soul. Alongside Black Power came the women’s liberation movement and increasing (though still small) numbers of women singers. The result was a new musical hybrid that he called solka. With his 1974 album Endless Vibrations and the single Shanti Om, Shorty sparked a revolution in Caribbean music.
