The 1973 album Catch a Fire was released worldwide, and sold well. It was followed by Burnin', which included the song "I Shot the Sheriff", of which a cover version by Eric Clapton became a hit in 1974. Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left The Wailers in 1974. Bob Marley proceeded with Bob Marley and the Wailers, which included the Wailers Band and the I Threes. His subsequent albums, including Rastaman Vibration, Exodus, Kaya, Survival and the last album released during his lifetime, Uprising, were big international sellers. Between 1991 and 2007 Bob Marley and The Wailers sold in excess of 21 million records . The Complete Upsetter Collection (2000). The Upsetter Singles Box (2002). Grooving Kingston 12 (2004).
Lee Perry – Upsetter In Dub (Heartbeat, 1997). An excellent collection of late Randy’s and early Black Ark dub versions that includes a previously unreleased mix of the Congos classic Solid Foundation and rare dub mixes of Junior Murvin’s Roots Train and Max Romeo’s War in a Babylon. Solid Foundation from Upsetter in Dub: King Tubby Meets Soul Syndicate – Freedom Sounds In Dub (Blood & Fire, 1996). A slick album full of incredible grooves and amazing vocal performances. Various – Raiders Of The Lost Dub (Island/Mango, 1981). Bubbling dubs from producers Sly & Robbie of popular reggae tunes from vital artists including Black Uhuru, Burning Spear, Wailing Souls.

Lee Perry & the Full Experiences. Disco doesn’t reference the flashy dance genre of the same name but rather the concept of the discomix, a 12 vinyl format that contains a vocal song seamlessly followed by a dub remix or a deejay version (meaning a rapped performance over the rhythm track). Perry essentially released a dub version of the Romeo and Jazzbo tracks, then followed it with a dub of the dub. It’s a particularly effective example of Perry’s innovative, eccentric production style that transforms the studio into an instrument itself.
