Circus is the sixth studio album of Argent, released in 1975 by Epic (PE 33422), and distributed by CBS. It was the last album as part of their contract with CBS Records and the first after the departure of founding member/lead vocalist/guitarist Russ Ballard. New lead vocalist John Verity was added at the recommendation of Ballard (Verity's band had supported Argent during their previous tour and had impressed Ballard).
Argent is the first album by British rock band Argent. Released in 1970 on CBS Records (USA: Epic Records, BN 26525), the album did not chart in either the . or the UK and did not produce any hit singles, although the song "Liar" would become a top-10 Billboard hit the following year through a cover version by Three Dog Night. "Liar" b/w "Schoolgirl" was issued in the US as a 45 on Date, before CBS moved the band to their Epic label
Rodney Terence "Rod" Argent is an English musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. session musician, produced albums by other artists, and has had a solo career which has included three studio albums: "Moving Home", "Red House", and "Classically Speaking". lt;/p
Argent's first album included the song "Liar" (also composed by Ballard), which became a hit for Three Dog Night. In 1976, the band broke u. .In 1978, Argent released his debut solo album Moving Home with many well-known musicians, including Genesis drummer Phil Collins, and Weather Report bass guitarist Alphonso Johnson. In 1980, he wrote a musical titled Masquerade which premiered in London in 1982 Argent went on to play keyboards with a number of musicians, including piano on the title track of The.
er Rod Argent spent the '60s as a crucial part of underappreciated British Invasion popsters the Zombies, and later moved on to embrace album rock as leader of his own band, Argent. He was born June 14, 1945, in St. Alban's, England (near London); aside from about two years of lessons, he was a largely self-taught pianist. Additionally, Argent broke a decade's worth of silence as a solo artist with 1988's Red House. Ten years later, he returned with an album of solo piano performances titled Classically Speaking, which true to its title featured a number of classical pieces interspersed with a few originals. In addition to his work as a producer, arranger, and session player, Argent reunited with Colin Blunstone for 2001's Out of the Shadows, which was accompanied by a tour.
When the original line-up of The Zombies reconvened in 2008 to mark the 40th anniversary of their classic album Odessey & Oracle, few fans who packed concert halls across Europe and America could have predicted the exercise would lead to a new lease of life for the band. Creative lynchpins Rod Argent and Colin Blunstone had made just one record together since the start of the decade, and had for a long time resisted performing more than a handful of songs from their past, reluctant to trade on former glories. I really feel in some ways that we're just starting ou. Breathe Out Breathe In is out now on Red House Records. The Zombies' 50th anniversary tour begins on 14 May, full details at thezombies.
