This album is dedicated to Mairi McKeeve, Peggy McKeeve and Ann Dunbar. Produced, recorded and mixed at Flora Recording and Playback. You can completely disappear, as it were. With the music of Camera Obscura is exactly so. The band name is well chosen. You can immerse yourself in the music. At first hearing, but the power is simple, as with Rothko, in the layers. Small guitar tunes, tiny percussion instruments, diffident ironing packages, sophisticated keyboards, layer upon layer upon layer. The topping is the voice of singer and songwriter, Tracyanne Campbell, according to fans the most talented songwriter from the United Kingdom.
The term "camera obscura" also refers to constructions or devices that make use of the principle within a box, tent or room. Camera obscuras with a lens in the opening have been used since the second half of the 16th century and became popular as an aid for drawing and painting. The camera obscura box was developed further into the photographic camera in the first half of the 19th century when camera obscura boxes were used to expose light-sensitive materials to the projected image
Camera obscura: Camera obscura, ancestor of the photographic camera. The Latin name means dark chamber, and the earliest versions, dating to antiquity, consisted of small darkened rooms with light admitted through a single tiny hole. Camera obscura, ancestor of the photographic camera. The result was that an inverted image of the outside scene was cast on the opposite wall, which was usually whitened.
Camera Obscura's distinctive outlook on generic terrain becomes apparent only via intimate familiarity, like how every forest trail looks the same except the one you've walked a hundred times. A cursory pass over their catalog might make it sound like all one piece, where a baseline loveliness is spiked with absurdly disarming highlights such as "French Navy". Desire Lines is the first Camera Obscura album that doesn't seem to bring much new to the table, though it's hard to complain when they have vocal melodies as infectious and thoughtful as those in the verses of standout "William’s Heart". Here, Camera Obscura clear out the symphonic pomp that overgrew Maudlin to double down on classic beach music and soul underpinnings.

The Camera Obscura, known in Japanese as Shaeiki (射影機, roughly "shadow-shooting mechanism"), is the main device featured throughout the entire Fatal Frame series. The camera functions by recording images onto photographic film, however, the Camera Obscura found in the series is unique due to its ability to exorcise spirits. The Camera Obscura, along with the Flashlight, is a staple item in the Fatal Frame series.
