Robert Johnson was an American blues singer-songwriter and musician. This biography profiles his childhood, music career, achievements and timeline. It is a compilation album released on Columbia Records, recorded in the Dallas and San Antonio sessions. He has been inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, and the Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame, and in 2006 presented the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. However, the blues singer Robert Junior Lockwood was said to be the son of one his ‘girl friends’ as also Claude Johnson. He died on August 16, 1938 after drinking poisoned whisky allegedly given to him by friends of a man on whose wife he showed too much interest. The exact location of his grave is, unfortunately, officially unknown.

Based strictly on content, "Fathers & Daughters" is not the type of movie I would usually see. However, after watching the trailer and seeing the star power of Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, and Aaron Paul, I decided to give it a try. While the plot of this film can be a bit shaky at times, one almost doesn't realize it because the quality of the acting invokes such strong emotions all the way through.

That Robert Johnson is remembered as a guitarist who could play almost any song after hearing it just once on the radio; a singer whose repertoire, like those of most itinerant bluesmen, included numbers made famous by Bing Crosby, Irish standards, and even polkas, in addition to his own songs; a performer whose travels took him as far north as New York City. One of them was a shy, alienated teenager named Eric Clapton, who was given the Johnson album by one of his early bandmates. At first the music almost repelled me, it was so intense and this man made no attempt to sugarcoat what he was trying to say, or play, Clapton writes in his recently published memoir, Clapton: The Autobiography. Thompson and Johnson were both the children of Julia Dodds but by different fathers.
