Huey Lewis and the News is the debut album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 1980. In 1979, the band's name was Huey Lewis and the American Express. Under this name they released a single and secured their recording contract with Chrysalis Records at the end of the year. The album was recorded within three weeks and the producer was Bill Schnee, who had produced for Boz Scaggs and Pablo Cruise.
Picture This is the second album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 1982. The album brought the band their first top-ten hit, "Do You Believe in Love". It remained on the Billboard albums chart for 35 weeks and peaked at number 7. The band produced the album themselves along with their manager, Bob Brown. Several outside tunes were included on the album. One of these tunes was "Do You Believe in Love", written by Robert John "Mutt" Lange
The whole album has a clear crisp sound and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. This is taken of the famous album 'Sports' ; I have a copy and love it. But most of the songs on it are harder and faster. 3 weeks ago. love this Amanda Brecker ver. soooo much♡♡♡♡♡ muahhh♡.
Huey Lewis & the News were a bar band that made good. With their simple, straightforward rock & roll, the San Francisco-based group became one of America's most popular pop/rock bands of the mid-'80s. Inspired equally by British pub rock and '60s R&B and rock & roll, the News had a driving, party-hearty spirit that made songs like "Workin' for a Livin'," "I Want a New Drug," "The Heart of Rock & Roll," "Hip to Be Square," and "The Power of Love" yuppie anthems. Picture This, the group's second album, was released early in 1982 and the record became a hit on the strength of the Top Ten single "Do You Believe in Love," which was written by former Clover producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange. A couple other minor hits, "Hope You Love Me Like You Say You Do" and "Workin' for a Livin'" followed, and the band began building a strong following by touring heavily.
Now you're confessing But I'm still guessing I've been your fool For so, so long. Girl don't lie Just to save my feelings Girl don't cry And tell me nothing's wrong Girl don't try To make up phony reasons I'd rather leave Than never believe. If this is it Please let me know If this ain't love You'd better let me go. If this is it I want to know If this ain't love, baby Just say so. You've been thinking And I've been drinking We both know that it's Just not right.
